New York City OEM in cooperation with FEMA, the FCC, and cellular providers will be testing an emergency alert technology in cell phones on December 15, 2011 from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m.  These messages will be noted that they are a test upon broadcast.  While these messages will target the New York City area, it’s possible that cellular phones in New Jersey may receive the messages.  For information on this technology or this series of Emergency Alert tests, please contact your cellular provider.
